Kava is known for its relaxation properties, which may help elevate mood, well-being and contentment. These benefits are attributed to kavalactones, the main active ingredients in kava root. Historically, kava is also used by Pacific Islanders to help soothe nervousness, induce relaxation and sleep and counteract fatigue. Kava’s calming effects can also be attributed to its effects on gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) activity. GABA is one of the calming neurotransmitters of the nervous system.

Passionflower (Passiflora incarnata)

A good night’s sleep is at the heart of strong mental and physical health. Passionflower has traditionally been used in western herbal medicine to assist with the relief of restlessness, sleeplessness and nervousness.

Lemon Balm (Melissa officinalis)

Lemon balm is traditionally used in western herbal medicine to help relieve mild symptoms of mental stress, mild anxiety and restlessness.

Magnolia (Magnolia officinalis)

Often used in combination with other herbs. Magnolia has been used for centuries in traditional Chinese medicine to help reduce mild anxiety and stress.

Ziziphus (Ziziphus jujube var. spinosa)
